Useful information for visitors

  •  
    • Declare your mobile phone at Ukrainian customs.
    • Make sure that your mobile can work in GSM 900 network.
    • Program all numbers in your mobile memory-book in international format.
    • Your domestic operator will charge you for using UMC network.
    • Ask your domestic operator about prices in roaming.  
    • You pay for incoming and outgoing calls while using UMC network.
    • If the UMC Service Center operators are unable to answer your question, they will help you to contact your domestic Informational Service.

  • WAP Navigation service – an important tourist information!

  • Tourist’s Guide can be useful when you choose UMC and use WAP service (Russian version) http://wap.umc.ua/navigatsia

  • Using WAP service at this address (your mobile phone provides detailed information on how to upload the address and to use WAP in general), you can receive necessary information about the main roads of Ukraine, plan you route, find the necessary objects, streets, famous places and cultural sightseeing in Kyiv as well as in other big cities of Ukraine. How to Call Within Ukraine and Abroad  

  • Outgoing call within Ukraine.

  • You came to Ukraine, choose UMC network and wish to call a subscriber who has local telephone number – dial a number in international format (the price is the same as for the local call within Ukraine ).

  • For subscribers of GSM standard: + < country code > < area code or network code within Ukraine without zero in front > < phone number >

  • For example, in order to call Odesa, Ukraine, dial +380 482 ÕÕÕ ÕÕÕ, which is:
    • + is a sign which is used in mobile telephones of GSM standard to substitute access code from any country;
    • 380  – international code of Ukraine;
    • 482 – code of Odesa;
    • ÕÕÕ ÕÕÕ – telephone number of a subscriber.

  • Contact your domestic operator to find out about the prices for roaming calls within Ukraine.

Outgoing calls abroad – international call

  • You came to Ukraine, choose UMC network and wish to call a subscriber who is not in Ukraine – dial a number in international format (the price is the same as for the local call within Ukraine).

  • For subscribers of GSM standard: + < country code > < area code or network code > < phone number >

  • For example, in order to call San-Francisco, dial +1 415 ÕÕÕ ÕÕ ÕÕ, which is:
    • + is a sign which is used in mobile telephones of GSM standard to substitute access code from any country;
    • 1  – code of USA;
    • 415 – code of San-Francisco;
    • ÕÕÕ ÕÕ ÕÕ – telephone number of a subscriber.

  • Contact your domestic operator to find out about the prices for roaming calls out of Ukraine.

General Information about Ukraine

  • Ukraine occupies 603,7 thousands square kilometers and it is the second biggest state in Europe after Russia. Its population is almost 50 million people which is a little less than in France.
