EDGE is the technology of high-speed data transmission in GSM networks. EDGE data rates may reach 236 kbit/sec. EDGE allows you to more effectively, quickly and qualitatively use the existing GPRS services:

Settings for EDGE are the same as for GPRS. If you are already using any of GPRS services, it is not necessary to set them again. Tariffs for using MMS, WAP and Internet services by means of EDGE are similar to tariffs for the corresponding GPRS services in your tariff package.

 

You may find out if EDGE coverage is available by means of the Cell Broadcast service (channel 050). When you are in the EDGE coverage zone, on the screen of your phone, next to the region code, the EDGE inscription will be displayed.
